Dr. Janice Scott Cover is an internationally known educator. Widely respected by local community members and school leaders. Her passion for education radiates through her work and voice.

Dr. Cover’s instructional and leadership experiences are vast; teacher, assistant principal, school principal, Director of Elementary Education, Assistant Superintendent and Area Superintendent, offering advice, support and expertise to help individuals, groups and schools.

Education is her passion that she eagerly shares with school groups, civic and cultural organizations and at local, national and international conferences.

Dr. Cover is known as a turnaround principal who developed a winning School Reform Model which is the focus of her book, 7 Insider Secrets: Transform your Low-Performing Elementary School and Score an A in Record Time. She has completed Fifteen Insider Secrets to Career Success for Teachers which was inspired by her struggles and triumphs on her career journey. To pay homage to her past and to inspire the future she is penning a fascinating biography.

She embodies the value of education earning a Doctorate in Education and Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, a Bachelor of Science Degree from Louisiana State University and a Diploma in Education from Moneague Teachers' College in Jamaica. She has been a participant at the Harvard Institute for School Leadership and twice at Darden/Curry School Executive Leadership. She is an active member of the One Word at a time Elite writers’ Club and the Florida Writers’ Association.

Philanthropy runs through her veins. Dr. Cover founded and is President of the Caribbean Educators' Association (CAR.E), a (501) (c) 3 organization, which awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors.

Her life’s work in the field of education has been acknowledged with numerous awards: Lifetime Achievement (Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity); One of Fifty Most Influential and Prominent Black Women in South Florida (Success Magazine); Woman of Excellence (Delta Sigma Theta Sorority); Luminary (Most Accomplished Leader and Change Maker (ICABA); Blue Dove (Trust-bridge & Hispanic and Black Chambers of Commerce of Palm Beach); Luminary in South Florida; (Consulate of Jamaica, Miami); Phenomenal Woman – Celebrating Black History (Nova Southeastern University).

Janice makes her home in Florida with her family, enjoys babysitting her two granddaughters, tending to her fruit trees and experimenting with interior decorating.
